“… a certain tenement or piece of land [in New Bern] on the south side of Pollock Street… unto John S. Morris. In trust for the following intents & purposes… for the sole & seperate use benefit and behoof of Jemima Morris, wife of Captain William P. Morris of Newbern afordsaid during the natural life of the said Jemima Morris so that the said property and the rents issues & profits of the same shall not be subject to the control of the said William P. Morris nor liable to his contracts, debts, or engagements so that the said property and its rents, issues & profits may be used & enjoyed by the said Jemima Morris for & during her natural life as freely and fully as if she were discovert and unmarried, and upon the further trust upon the death of the said Jemima Morris to surrendering and deliver up saidproperty to the children or other heirs at law of said William P. Morris and Jemima Morris to be held by said children or heirs at law of said William & Jemima in fee simple & absolutely…”
