“…two certain tenements of land the one formerly in Beaufort County but now [in Craven County] on the So side of Bay River & Et side of Trent Creek the one part beginning on the uppers side of Thomas Creek joyning James Humes line beginning at a pine on the point running… to Humes line thence … over a swamp to a pine then… to Thomas Creek then with the meanders of the sd creek to the first station containing by estimation [100 acres] be the same more or less the said patent granted to Mark Hereford bearing date [23 October 1761] referenced being there to may more fully and at large appear the said land afterward granted to John Morris by a Deed from said Mark Hereford the other part beginninga t a pine it being the begin of the other patent then along said line … to a Bay tree Whorton’s corner along his line … to Humes corner along his line… to Trent Creek then down the same and up Thomas Creek to the beginning containing [200 acres] the said land granted to the said John Morris by Patent bearing date the [27 April 1767] …”
