“…a certain tract of land…[in Craven County] …beginning at a marked pine standing on the east? side of a parcel of land sold by David Wharton to John Simmons thence runing West ________ poles to a pine thence south 5 Wt to the back line of the whole survey of a tract of land patented by David Wharton bearing date __________ (being part of same survey) thence running with the back line till it intersect with the aforesaid line of John Simmons thence with said line to the Beginning containing & laid out for 100 acres of land …”
